The Bay Flower Garden Club of Laurel hosted two prominent Laurelites who specialize in working with orchids. Clara Stevens Smith (in red) gave a talk and slide presentation featuring some of her orchids and the work she does in her green house.
A one room structure on Indian Springs Road was the first of 32 structures that became Baptist churches in 1915 and soon thereafter. Today, there are 53 churches belonging to the Jones County Baptist Association, headquartered in Laurel.
